General Information

Responsibilities

The City of Apopka's Human Resources Office is responsible for the City's personnel administration, including payroll. We maintain and archive the records of the City's following:
  • Benefit's Information and Records
  • Employee Policy and Procedures
  • Pay Records
  • Pension Records
  • Personnel Records

Equal Opportunity Employer

The department ensures the City is an Equal Opportunity Employer, which does not discriminate on the basis of:
  • Age
  • Any Other Legally Protected Status
  • Citizenship
  • Color
  • Disability
  • Marital Status
  • National Origin
  • Race
  • Religion
  • Sex

Physical Examination & Drug Screening

Because the City is committed to maintaining a Drug Free Workplace and hiring safe and competent employees, a requirement for new hires to submit to a physical examination and drug screening is a condition of employment, as is a background check via local and national databases.

Internal & External Support

Our function within the City is both as an internal support provider to our employees and an external service provider to the citizens.

Internal Support

Internally, we deal with the everyday issues ranging from assisting an employee with getting an insurance claim processed to answering employee questions regarding policy and procedure and everything in-between.

External Support

Externally, we assist citizens with job applications, answer a myriad of inquiries regarding job postings and qualifications, respond to inquiries from citizens for other information, and many other services.
